In the Fritz Ascher Society’s student competitions, high school and college students are invited to respond to the life or work of Fritz Ascher with an essay, a poem, or an artwork. Through these competitions, the legacy of the Shoah takes on a personal resonance. Students connect with history and explore Ascher’s work as a creative resilience–a process of student empathy-building that enacts the imperative of Holocaust studies to never forget.
